Dark Dimensions Comics & Collectables
  • Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A COMIC BOOK AND A GRAPHIC NOVEL?

A Comic Book is a single issue of a serialised story. Single issues are more collectable and can have variant covers that are worth more than a standard one. Depending on the title single issues may be released weekly, fortnightly, or monthly.

After a story arc has completed its run as a comic book, it is re-published as a Collected Edition, or Graphic Novel. The first publishing is usually a hardcover edition followed by a trade paperback edition a few months later.

Graphic Novels usually don't contain ads, but often include extras that were not in the original publication.

<INSERT TITLE HERE> WAS JUST RELEASED IN AMERICA. DO YOU HAVE IT IN STOCK?

    The short answer is No.

It's a complicated and costly process to order in comic books from America, especially when the is no guarantee that we will be able to sell them.

As such, we now only order in comic books for customers with a pre-paid standing order from a local sub-distributor.

These titles generally arrive a few days after they are released in America.

Please feel free to contact us for more information on setting up a pre-order account.

DO YOU BUY PRE_OWNED COMIC BOOKS OR COLLECTABLES?

Unfortunately, we're currently not in a position to purchase pre-owned goods, however this may change in the future. That said, we do on occasion accept donations.

I HAVE SOME OLD COMIC BOOKS. HOW MUCH ARE THEY WORTH?

There are a lot of factors to consider when evaluating back-issue comic books, such as age, condition, and rarity.

Regretfully, we are not qualified to provide these kinds of assessments, so when can only give you a general estimate.

For a more accurate guide, we recommend first looking on eBay to see how much similar titles have sold for and using that information as a rough guide.

If you believe that you have an issue which may hold some value, professional comic book evaluations are available in Australia, however prices usually start at $50 per comic book.
